Asthma is a disease where the airways go into spasm and allergy is one of the causes of that spasm. In fact, allergy is responsible for causing asthma in a large proportion of cases. The types of allergens that trigger asthma are usually the inhaled allergens, such as house dust mites, which occurs throughout the year, pollens, animal dander such as cats and dogs, and again moulds can be a trigger.
