Bilateral disc swelling with nerve hemorrhage

My 16 yr old had experienced flashes of light in left eye when in daylight sun. A "floater blocks" his vision when looking upwards, is his description. Ear & Eye Emergency (very wonderful people) concerned about haemorrhage in nerve. Sent next day for MRI (scan B & ORBITS) but need to wait 3 weeks plus until they find a time. MRI: Bilateral disc swelling with nerve haemorrhage raised intracranial pressure/mass/hydrocephalus, could also be atypical drusen. No pain, no headaches, just weird visual effects. Should I obtain a referral to special from my GP, book MRI elsewhere for an earlier scan or not worry and just wait? Any feedback will be helpful & appreciated.
