Total loss of smell and taste

I have totally lost my sense of smell and taste for about 2 weeks. I am a healthy, active, 41-year-old non-smoking female. I had a slightly stuffy nose and tingling in my throat prior to this, which I thought I was coming down with a cold but it didn't eventuate except that one morning I realised I couldn't smell or taste anything. Since then I still feel a little stuffiness in my nose but otherwise, no other symptoms and I can breathe through both nostrils the majority of the time. I haven't had any head traumas nor come into contact with any strong fumes. I'm not on any medication either. I have seen a GP which looked in my nostrils and couldn't see a polyp and placed me on steroid spray which I've been on for a few days but no change.
