PTSD has a very good recovery rate. With the right treating team and a lot of hard work and determination your husband can recover from PTSD. Having said this like many other injuries there may always be a scar.
PTSD often changes peoples world. The best outcomes are often seen in people who can best adapt to the new environment.
Even without PTSD your husband would likely never be the same as he was 20 years ago but neither are you. You can still both look forward to a brighter future where both of you can have a full and meaningful life.
