    Treatment resistant depression

My husband has been suffering from depression for 20 years. In that time he has been on over 40 different types of medication the longest that any have lasted that gave relief is 3 months. He has now been diagnosed with treatment resistant depression. Where do we go from here?

He is suicidal every day. It is a battle for him, he just wants to feel normal. He also has had 6 months of cognitive behavioural therapy. We are getting desperate to find a psychiatrist that is willing to think outside the box and look at alternatives that research is advancing in like the ketamine treatment or stimulants. Is there anywhere in Perth that can help? We do not have private cover.
