    What is the treatment for Endometriosis?

    At laparoscopy your Gynaecologist will perform surgical treatment including burning, cutting out lesions and removing endometriomas - ovarian cysts if present. Your Gynaecologist will often use hormonal medication for a long term to minimize recurrence of endometriosis. As with any chronic condition holistic approach on a long-term is needed including modifications in lifestyle, diet, exercise, mindfulness and meditation to help with chronic pain and avoidance of strong opioid painkillers that are causing dependence. Regular follow-ups with your Gynaecologist are essential. Our society needs to develop empathy and understanding of this condition.
