  • Q&A with Australian Health Practitioners

Daily calorie intake for totally sedentary obese female. Please help.

What is the estimated daily calorie intake for a person of such characteristics: 113 kg weight, 1.69 m height, 20 years of age, female, no regular exercise, spends most of the day in bed, although sometimes ventures outside for an hour (2-3 times a week). Have no illnesses except for depression and obesity. Because of the depression, she hasn't seen her doctor for a while which is currently beyond her capabilities. Yes, she is getting help for depression, seeing a therapist twice a week and is using antidepressants, although having no idea what her calorie intake should be and consumes mostly processed foods. Her weight seems to have been growing little by little over the past few years. Having decided to finally write down her daily eating habits and roughly knowing where to start, one important question remains. What is the recommended daily calorie intake for such a person? Thank you for your time.
