Does my 'throat pain' while swallowing need immediate attention?

I am 32 years old male and having throat pain for the past 22 days. In the initial days, the pain was mild and didn't cause much trouble. Day by day, it slowly increased, and now its causing much pain while swallowing something (only on the right side) in my throat. I am always feeling a pressure/tightness inside my throat. My tongue is fully covered with white patches. No symptoms of cold, flu, body pain or weight loss. I visited GP and took antibiotics (No improvements after that). Done blood and urine tests (The results are normal). Done a throat ultrasound scan for thyroid (In result, they mention everything is normal, apart from the presence of a 0.3cm likely colloid module at the right lower pole). I am afraid, whether it could be any serious disease like cancer or something. Now, I am waiting for my ENT specialist appointment, which is scheduled in 12 days. What could be the cause for my condition? Should I seek immediate medical attention? Please help!
