How can I prevent more flare ups of transient bone marrow oedema?

I have been diagnosed with transient bone marrow oedema which has progressively affected the cuniform, cuboid and talus in my right foot (confirmed with MRI) and recently I have been suffering similar pain in my left ankle joint and I'm worried it's starting in my left knee (not confirmed at this stage as TBMES as I can't afford any more MRIs!). This has been progressing over the last 14 months and the issue has resolved each time after conservative treatment in a moon boot (also confirmed by successive MRIs). My MSK GP has been great but I am frustrated at these ongoing recurrences which happen just as I seem to recover from the one before. I would like to know if there is something I can do to prevent these flare ups, or what the prognosis might be over time - when should I seek further review and what kind of specialist should I see - or is this just something I have to live with?
