  • Q&A with Australian Health Practitioners

Married 25 years, husband depression and lost feelings. What can I do?

He has been meeting another women and says he has feelings for her. I love him dearly and want to save our marriage. He is getting help with his depression and now medicated. He will be seeing a psychologist for his depression and I want us to seek marriage counselling. I'm not sure how keen he is as he says he doesn't know he can change the way he feels. I just want him to try and not give up in our 30 years together. The other lady is going through a divorce and has been confiding in him and I guess him to her. He doesn't know how he is feeling and is confused. His depression resulted from a farm accident and he really hasn't gotten over it. I have been by his side the whole time, supporting him with operation after operation and now solicitors. I know he has been suffering and still is, as has been the whole family. We have just built a house after a long wait and it is now time to start enjoying life. I am trying so hard to make it work, but don't know what else to do?
