  • Q&A with Australian Health Practitioners

Is it possible to have a permanent bruise?

My daughter is 7 weeks old, during her birth forceps were used which created bruising and a red line in the white of her eye. The red line in the eye has cleared and most of the bruising cleared within a few days but she has a pinky/red blotch on the skin near her eye (her temple area). My GP said its not a port wine mark as its not dark enough and appears to be just under the skin. It also doesn't blanch (doesn't change colour when touched). The GP said it will probably go away but it.has not changed in 7 weeks.
Any ideas as to what it could be ?
    Many thanks.
