Most people are aware of what foods are considered to be healthy, but are not always sure of how much they should be consuming. Too much of certain good foods can still be an issue in terms of overall calorie intake over the day. Meat fits into this category. It is important for iron, protein, amino acids, zinc and many B vitamins. However, we should aim to consume a portion size which is the size of our palm. Portion control is important for health.
It is still important to have smaller amounts of other protein at main meals, such as eggs, tuna, nuts and low fat dairy.
