  • Q&A with Australian Health Practitioners

Leukocyte levels are reducing, what does this mean?

I'm 34 years old and have been suffering from UTI-like symptoms for over 2 months. I do not have any burning sensation when urinating but do have a persistent need to go to the toilet after just going and also experience pelvic pain.
I've tried nitrofurantoin, trimethoprim and am now on amoxycillin/clavulanic acid for the next 14 days. Pelvic/vaginal ultrasounds are all normal. All 3 urine tests have seen no bacteria grow and my leukocytes have gone from +1000 to 46 to 25. Does this mean it is in fact bacterial?

I see a urologist in a month but any other info would be helpful.
