Is appendix surgery necessary? Are antibiotics a credible option?

    Related Topics
I refused an appendicectomy. Pain in all quadrants, rebound pain when tested. WBC shows infection. CT scan states possible acute appendicitis. Appendix 9mm, no complications. No other symptoms. Spent the last 3 days in hospital - pain subsiding and on antibiotics. Now it’s just uncomfortable. I was on heavy pain medication for the first 8 hours after admission. I saw 3 surgeons. The first surgeon on the night of admission recommended surgery. The 2nd surgeon on the day after wasn’t sure. The 3rd surgeon believed it was appendicitis but let me leave with antibiotics because of no complications. I will go back if in pain. What is the risk of rupture? Typically, will I have a clear warning with unbearable pain and enough time to get to hospital? I just thought trying non-invasive action first was surely a good thing? I know the surgery is safe but no surgery if possible is even better right? Am I taking in a credible medical option for appendicitis?
