I have been a runner my whole life. My regular run is 5-6 kms. During the past three months, anytime I run more than 1km or walk at a fast pace, my ankles/lower calves hurt, they swell and feel 'full', and walking on them is painful (about 7 out of 10 pain). I end the run/walk by either elevating them or sticking them in my pool to cool down and then they are fine.
Is this a serious issue or should I simply try and decrease my exercise intensity??
