    Gluteal tendinopathy

I have been diagnosed (May 2016) with a gluteal tendinopathy to my left side. I've had two ABI procedures with slight relief for about 2 weeks, but then back to painful. I've seen a physio who has given me a programme of exercises which I've stuck to rigidly but the condition remains. I'm a 65-year-old male with a trade background and for the last 2 years of my working life, I did a lot a ladder work and climbing stairs, both of which I believe was the cause of the condition. An ultrasound last week revealed that the condition had not improved and I was told to keep up the physiotherapy but after more than 6 months of exercising I'm worried that I may be stuck with this for life. I cannot walk further than 40-50 metres without pain, stairs I can manage 1 or 2 flights but no more and bike riding, either exercise or road bike is even worse as I can only last about 30 seconds before the pain. Can anybody offer some suggestions please? This condition is extremely debilitating and restrictive.
