I require Carpel Tunnel Surgery in both hands and nerve conduction tests show that I need it done sooner rather than later. Due to recovery times and in order to return to work ASAP I am thinking that Endoscopic Surgery is the best option. I have consulted one specialist and even with my absolute Top Cover Medical Insurance, I am looking at a gap of over $2,000. I simply can't afford that amount and am even thinking of just dropping my Private Cover and saving myself $512 per month and with the savings, take the Thailand option as the waiting list in the Public system is way too long. We are constantly being told to shop around for Specialists but it isn't the same as shopping around for a Tradie. Each Specialist understandably has to charge for a prior consultation, which rules out that option. I expect to pay some gap but $2,000 is not an option having lost so much work time already. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
After a cannula was inserted into my right wrist, I experienced severe pain and a nerve conduction test showed I have mild superficial radial nerve damage. It has been 6 months and I am still on pain…
