My daughters nail on her thumb and fever - is it related?

Her nail has turned all black. It happened 2 weeks ago, though last Friday and Saturday she developed a temperature. Sunday I bought her antibiotic as advised by the GP. She went to school on Tuesday, when I picked her up she looks sick again and said she was cold. Around midnight when she had a fever I gave her Nurofen. As of today she still continues to drink her antibiotic, just wondering if that's a related case? -
