How is 'dehiscence of superior semicircular canal' resolved?

I am a healthy 65 y.o. going swimming most days. About 6 weeks ago, noticed left ear felt plugged with ringing in it. At first thought there was water in it from swimming, or infection from virus. I had antibiotics and tried 'popping' my ears. Nothing will do. Eventually had CT scan which revealed 'dehiscence superior semicircular canal'. I find it uncomfortable in spermarkets or noisy crowded environments as high pitched sound bounces off and echoes in my ear. There is a bit of stress on left side of my head and my hearing is partly affected on the left ear. My questions are: Is there any chance of this condition clearing up in time? If so, how long? If not, will surgery be required? What's the success rate with surgery?
