Q&A with Australian Health Practitioners
What could be the cause of my ongoing hair loss for the last two years?
Hi I am a 29 year old female suffering from hair loss. I am a vegetarian and for certain religious reasons gave up eating rice for 3.5 years. Just over 2 years ago my body went through chronic stress due to my stressful new job. Stress led to tremendous hair loss almost straight away. But in the first phase, the hair returned back to almost 80% in the first 3 months. However in another stressful blow, i lost lot of hair which now never seems to return in the last 2 years. Hair grows back and falls out (big or small). The thick waist length hair is now very fine, receding at the front and crown and barely crosses shoulders. Blood test results show things are normal, hormonal tests also prove fine. I no longer work in such a stressful position, and I am not sure of the cause of ongoing hair fall. Any help in identifying the cause or perhaps suggestions on further testing would be appreciated. I have been taking several vitamins, not sure if i am being able to absorb them, although my nails are strong.
