Mood Swings: Normal or Something Else?

The last two weeks have been busy for me, and I like to be busy.

My energy levels were sufficient enough to carry me through that time, but then it all kind of mellowed down and I was extensively tired, moody, and not good company; I just wanted to be by myself.

I am aware that people have their good days and not so good ones, and that a positive outlooks is important. I am just not sure if one week which has been happy and full of endorphins, and then the next week I am completely low, have no energy left and am starting to sink into that cave of pessimism.

Sometimes I suppose that some minerals in the body might be low, but which ones and what can I do to not feel so deflated, and is it relatively normal or related to something more severe (like depression or bipolar disorder)?
