My 18 month old daughter has been sick with constant respiratory infections, really smelly sloppy stools where she may have up to 5 a day and very bad stomach pain and wind, mainly at night time. She has poor growth and has failed to thrive. She is very pale most of the time. The only thing that came up in her blood work and stool tests was low in iron and some inflammation markers. My question is can being low in iron result in all these symptoms and now she is on Ferro-Liquid 5mls per day how long it takes to get her iron levels back to normal. She does eat red meat and we often have red lentils. Is there other ways to add iron into her diet?
