    What could cause bleeding 3 years after menopause?

    after not having a period for 3 years, have just started bleeding again. This is not normal is it??

    No, sorry this is not normal - post menopausal bleeding is taken seriously and should be investigated promptly. It can be caused by benign conditions eg polyps, thickened endometrium (are you taking hormones?), blood thinners etc but it is very important that cancer of the endometrium is ruled out. If caught early, this is very treatable.

    Please go and see a decent GP / family planning dr ASAP. The doctor should examine you (a speculum examination / Pap and an internal examination), refer you for an ultrasound and organise for you to see a gynaecologist for an endometrial biopsy.
