Insect bites, particularly in Queensland, actually release parasites into the wound. So it is not just about the bite or an allergic reaction, it depends on what the allergic reaction is to. With hot weather and other things, you can swell or inflame or other things can go on at the same time. You can also end up with sores. Depending on if it is around dirt or just in the sea.

    Hi!

    Absolutely!

Allergies to bee stings are quite common. I have also seen reactions that cause massive welts for weeks from mosquito bites and ant bites… The possiblitities are endless.

Reactions can be mild (redness and itching) to extreme (anaphylaxis) depending upon the person.

If you are concerned that it is moderate to severe, I would recommend you see your GP or go to a hospital.

Wishing you the best of health.
    Lucinda
