    When to have a full scan after T3 rectal cancer has been removed?

    After having my radio therapy, chemo 5FU, surgery removal of rectum and temp illiostomy, more chemo, then reversal. I am on the road to recovery BUT I want to know when should I have a scan to find out if my tumour has metastised ? as i had the original tumour for years without knowing it. How do I know it wont come back without anyone knowing. I see my surgeon in 3 weeks time and have these questions.
    What is the appropriate protocols?? thanks misty
