How can I cough better to get out the mucus from my lungs?

It is so frustrating dealing with mucus and gunk when you have COPD… my cough is so weak due to my weakened muscles… anyone have any suggestions as to how to clear out my lungs?

It's a great idea to see a specialized chest physiotherapist, who will guide you through the process. In general, ask your doctor about the proper inhalers to help loosen mucus. Consider using a nebulizer or a steamer. Thirdly, usually a chest physiotherapist will show you a couple of devices which makes sputum clearance far easier. They would be flutter valves, PEP masks, Acapella devices and also there are a few fancy inhalation medications that you can try. It's best to take all these on the advice of your doctor.
