Shortsightedness, or myopia is a refractive error. The lens inside the eye focuses the images of the far objects in front of retinal plane rather than directly on it ( back of the eye), so they are seen ‘out of focus’ or blurry. Close up objects are usually clear. Comprehensive eye examination by optometrist will confirm presence of myopia.
