How easy is it to be prescribed antidepressants in Australia?

It doesn't take an expensive psychiatrist to figure that I could benefit from antidepressant medication, but how much will I have to say to my doctor? I need help or I'll fail uni but I don't want to talk to the odd GPs at my local clinic about how I feel. How much do I have to open up to get help?
