    Bipolar disorder can be diagnosed by clinical psychologists and psychiatrists Bipolar disorder can be identified and defined by a book called Diagnostic and Statistic Manual of Mental Disorders (considered the Bible of Psychiatry and Collected Psychology). The abbreviation for that is DSM-IV Revised, which is the most recent version of it.
