    Post stitches care

    Related Topic
My son had 4 stitches on the top of his foot yesterday at an urgent care clinic. The Dr rushed away at the end and I’m unsure what to do for his aftercare. He is booked in to have the stitches removed next Wednesday and for the next 2 days he will be in bed rest with his foot elevated. He is also on a 5-day course of antibiotics.

    Questions are:
When should it be ok to walk without the risk of damaging the stitches?
When should he be ok to wear shoes and socks?
When should he be ok to go back to school provided he doesn’t run, jump and play?
Should I check the wound or leave it with the post op waterproof patch on until stitches removed?
    Anything else I should consider?
