I had a total thyroidectomy on Nov 2, 2020. I had a normal voice up to four weeks after surgery. Now I still sometimes have hoarseness and sometimes feels normal but I can not raise my voice. My surgeon told me there may be scars around the nerve which may take another three months to recover. I visited another ENT specialist for a 2nd opinion with a laryngoscopy. She found that the right side nerve is not moving. I was advised that speech therapy may help me improve my voice.
