I have read that warts can be picked up by stepping on contaminated surfaces such as pool areas. I have seen this in many fact sheets and articles, however, none of them stipulate how long that surface remains contaminated for. For example, the virus that causes cold sores lasts about 10 seconds in open air.
Has the same been quantified for warts - probably specifically plantar warts that occur on feet?
