  • Q&A with Australian Health Practitioners

Who should I see for my mental health?

I have a family history of mental illness, my mother has bipolar. I have always argued that my experiences of mental health are a little bit like nature vs nurture. I hit a real low that’s been going on for two weeks. It started off like typical anxiety and I was writing job applications so I wrote it off as that but I have stopped all that and I’m still very low. It got so bad that I took some medication. It is now apparent to me I can’t get better without some form of medication so therefore I need a diagnosis of some kind. I don’t know where to go.
