    My husband has ocular hypertension in both eyes. It has gone from 24 to 28 in the last month and his appointment with a specialist is not for another month. I've read the risk increases greatly at this level. Is it risky to wait yet another month for his appointment?

    A Glaucoma Australia Medical Expert Panel member comments: If your eye healthcare professional has looked at the back of the eyes and checked the visual field (flashing light test), they will have determined the level of risk for that individual. That level of pressure is a risk factor for developing glaucoma over a period of many years in most cases, and a one month timeframe is a reasonably safe time for review.
