My teenage son has recently had a seizure which was followed by another seizure some months later. The first seizure was investigated with MRI, EEG, ambulatory EEG and sleep study. He was diagnosed as suffering from Sleep Apnoea after undergoing a sleep study. My son now sleeps with a CPAP machine. Results of MRI and EEG were clear. The ambulatory EEG however, showed possible epileptic activity. He often sleeps on his back and on every occasion that he is in that position he has an Apnoea event (even whilst on the CPAP). My questions is whether there is a link between Sleep Apnoea and seizures? Also, could an ENT specialist provide some hope to reduce the apnoea event?
