    Muscle and joint pain

My daughter is 14. She is on fluoxetine 20mg. She's been on meds for about six weeks. For past two weeks, she's been suffering from crippling muscle pain. She has trouble doing activities of daily living on her own. Getting out of bed is sometimes a challenge. When the pain in at its most severe, she has trouble walking or dressing. She cries out in pain during the night. Deep heat and paracetamol alone do nothing. We are doing blood tests on Tuesday. I'm at a loss as to what to do.

You may not find my advice being too helpful as I can't provide you with a diagnosis or any treatment direction. But I think you are doing everything right, just follow it through, and looks like doctors are doing their bits to help your daughter. Have faith in your doctors and specialists.

In the mean time, just for yourself if you are in distress (you need to stay strong so that you can be there for your daugther), maybe get a GP referral to see a counsellor or psychologist. You need to offload some stress so that you can walk longer

    Have faith and take care
