Chronic sinus issues - what can I do?

Several sinus ops. In 2015 sinus passages opened up in June, arterial ruptures on both sides resulted in rapid rhinos, MET CALL and nearly cost my life. 4 months later 4.5cm polyp removed caused by rapid thino use. Since iv I've been getting persistent smell in nose (husband can smell it) and last 2 months or more I have had huge chunks (been size of small plums) of yellow sod green with hard grey brown stuff that is very hard but pulls apart. It smells disgusting. Half will come down throat but get large bit out mouth as it is too big to clear in nose despite knowing and feeling the need to blow it clear. I'm constantly feeling unwell. Sore face, tender, my teeth get sore. I am over antibiotics. I want my life back. Recently moved to Melbourne so no ENT surgeon now. I think I need one again.

    Thanks

    Dr Sim Choroomi

Ear Nose and Throat (ENT) Surgeon

You certainly need to find a local specialist for your ongoing care. What you are describing are likely dry crusts and scabs which can develope inside your nose and sinuses after surgery. Regular saline flushes help but your specialist needs to look inside with a camera and clean/suction things out properly - then the smell you desribe will dissappear.
