Im a 43 year old woman and I recently suffered a small stroke. I also have a long history of migraine. The subsequent TOE identified that I have a PFO and the cardiologist that I am seeing is of the opinion that I need to have it closed to prevent a second stroke. Is it recommended to have it closed and what are the risks?
Four weeks ago I had a brain CT scan which shown the TIA.
Prior to the scan I had severe headache and vision problems. Since then I have had constant dull headache and taking 8 Panadols a day.
