Any advice on stage 1 bowel cancer recovery?

I had stage 1 bowel cancer, which was operated on successfully 6 weeks ago. Would like advise & support on recovery process. Still in pain & have changed my diet, Surgeon said I can go back to a normal diet but I'm finding certain foods aren't agreeing with me, yesterday I vomited, my stomach was bloated & was in severe pain, I'm a person who can handle a lot of pain but this reduced me to tears. I went back to work 2 weeks ago, work as a Nanny to two little boys, 4 1/2 & 2yrs10mths, am 59 & still active. Would like to know who to talk to, all went very quick from be in diagnosed to surgery.....1 week 2 days....... so didn't have time for it to register, also advise on diet please. Thankyou Christine
