  • Q&A with Australian Health Practitioners

Can this be something besides bursitis (in the hip)?

I have been dealing with hip pain for 4+ months. My PCP said it was bursitis and put me on steroids and it didn't work. Then he gave me cortizone shots, and that didn't work. I cannot lay on my left hip. It feels like I'm laying on a potato (only way to describe it), and the pain is also at the top of my pelvic bone on the left side, directly above where it huts in my hip. I am in so much pain. I am walking with a limp now, and it hurts to stand up when I've sat too long. Could this be something besides bursitis, or do I need another form of treatment? Please help. (Don't know if this helps, but I have not fallen on it or injured it. I am 23 years old, a stay at home mother who only works on Friday and Saturday private sitting with the elderly.)
