What are some treatment options for ankle arthritis?

In 2011 I broke my ankle, dislocated and just really stuffed it up. I have 2 major operations and have been seeing my surgeon for a while to help with options for on going pain. Before he suggested surgery he wanted an MRI just to see what was going on.

Results weren't good. The one that worries me is I am in pain all the time turns out to be arthritis of the talonavicular joint. MRI showed upper 1/3 no cartilage. My surgeon recommended I have a cortisone injection.

What should I be doing in terms of treatment for management of the pain? Should I see a pain specialist?

I'm also worried about my other ankle as it's had 4 operations and I know there is arthritis there. I'm only 26, what does the future hold for me?
