What can cause constant sensitivity to abdominal pressure?

Over the last five years I have experienced sensitivity to abdominal pressure, felt as a dull pain, to the extent I cannot wear normal trousers or jeans for any length of time.

As you might imagine, this creates difficulties in my social, romantic and working life. I can't even do office “smart casual”.

There is no pain at all if there is no pressure. So I can happily lie down, sit, walk or run if I'm wearing track pants.

The sensitivity is utterly constant - it is not obviously affected by anything else.

Things that have been tried and/or checked:
    * Ultrasound scan in abdominal region
    * Low-dose Amitriptyline for possible pain syndrome
    * Blood tests (for various conditions)

I did have a triple hernia which was successfully treated by surgery, but with no noticeable change to my abdominal sensitivity once I had recovered from the surgery.

I have BMI 25.3 and waist/height ratio 0.53. My cardiac fitness is good, e.g. I can jog up hill easily.
