Why do I have a bump on the tip of my tongue?

I have a small painless, whitish bump on the tip of my tongue.

I only noticed it about 3 weeks ago but now can feel it raised slightly.

I have been to my GP twice and although she has told me it is nothing to worry about I just want to know if there is anything I can do.
