    The GI Symbol Program is run by the Glycemic Index Foundation, a not-for-profit company supported by the University of Sydney and the JDRF (Australia). It is recognised internationally as the world leader in translating the science of GI into practice for consumers.
    The University of Sydney is one of the leading centers’ for Glycemic Index research in the world.

    The JDRF is one of Australia’s leading charities supporting children with diabetes and their families and working together to find a cure for Type 1 Diabetes.

    The Foundation generates income by licensing the low GI Symbol to manufacturers of healthy low GI foods. Funds surplus to the Symbol program are invested in education about the health benefits of low GI and research to make healthy low GI choices available to consumers in every food category.
