    Cervical Cancer and Biopsy

    Abnormal pap smear 2002. Lets procedure 2004. Internal biopsy's taken until 2009, then surgery.Unsure what it was called. Aware I had a curet,and did not have a historectomy.2012 I am to have an external biopsy.My appt. is 8:00am tomorrow.I have been told to buy an emla patch.Please, does anyone know what is to be done and or where is it to be placed?

    Thank you for your question. We forwarded your question to our panel of Medical Experts however they said that without more information and without seeing your Medical Records it was difficult for them to advise you properly.

    They did advise that they recommend you call the clinic for clarification before your appointment tomorrow to put your mind at rest about what you can expect. They also suggest writing down a list of questions before your next consultation and ask for a formal written report of everything that has been done the last ten years so that you are clear about the treatment you have had or so you can ask your GP to clarify things for you.
