Just to clarify a little more on this question I also have a link which you can gain further insight into carpel tunnel and how natural therapies are an excellent safe and effective way to treat this without surgery.

When treating people for CT using Bowen therapy I encourage gentle exercises and movement of the arms to encourage healthy blood flow to tissues and extremities. It is important to treat the back and neck of the person not just the arms.

Carpal tunnel syndrome is a painful and debilitating disorder of the hand due to an increased pressure on the nerves that run through the wrist.
Symptoms include numbness, pins and needles, and pain (particularly at night). Anything that causes swelling inside the wrist can cause carpal tunnel syndrome. Examples include:
repetitive hand movements
pregnancy
arthritis
Possible treatments include rest, splinting, manual therapy (such as what a chiropractor would use) cortisone injections and surgery.

The carpal tunnel is a tight tunnel at the front of the wrist formed by a wide ligament called the transverse carpal ligament (across the top) and a "U" shaped collection of bones (underneath).
Carpal tunnel syndrome occurs due to compression of the median nerve (one of the 2 major nerves to the hand) within this tunnel because of a lack of space.
This compression can be due to narrowing of the tunnel or swelling of the tissue surrounding the flexor tendons.2 Flexor tendons which allow hand movement also pass through this tunnel.
