Generally, if you're treating your eczema it will go away. With effective treatment eczema will usually disappear with 24 to 48 hours. Makeup can sometimes be irritating on eczema, as can the makeup removers. So rather than try to conceal the eczema with makeup it's much better to treat it and make it go away.

Allergy Specialist & Immunologist
That sucks that your eczema is affecting your life in such a profound way. It's good that you're seeking a healthcare opinion but the best bang for your buck would be to go see an immunologist or a dermatologist. What would clear skin be worth to you? Probably more than you would be charged at a private clinic (or if you can get into a public clinic in a timely manner then all the better!). I agree with Prof Sinclair that the eczema is more or less treatable and that makeup can irritate the skin which can precipitate or worsen eczema. It may be worthwhile also considering whether, if you are treating your eczema appropriately, further therapy with dupilumab would be helpful as there is a PBS indication specifically for eczema which is affecting the head. Overall though, the lesson is that eczema is treatable but you might need some extra help from a specialist to get there.
