    Could I have atrial fibrillation?

    I have recently become very stressed in my job and have been getting a sensation of a rapid heart beat and sometimes a feeling of my heart skipping a beat. Is this a panic attack or atrial fibrillation? Should I have this checked?

    Sounds more like ectopic beats (generally benign) but consider a holter monitor for 24 hours to record exactly what's going on during your symptoms. Your GP can arrange this. Stress makes you more aware of your heartbeat, both normal and abnormal.
