Ankylosing spondylitis (AS) is part of the rheumatoid spectrum of diseases and is usually progressive. There is as yet no known cure, but there are treatments which may help resolve symptoms and slow, or even halt progression of the condition.

The good news is that sometimes the disease stabilises or goes into remission. In the past people were often very stooped over, stiff and disabled.
New medication and a strict stretching and exercise regime can help significantly to slow or put off this process. Seek out an As class or a physiotherapiwst with specific expertise inthis problem for the best outcome.
