There is much debate over the effects of artificial sweeteners. Opinions differ about their effects on health, and you will find all sorts of information on the internet. Much of the published literature has found no evidence to support the theory that they can provoke seizures. Despite this, a number of people, including some with epilepsy, still think that artificial sweeteners affect their health.

Clean eating is probably the best way to eat – with no highly processed foods, and you can substitute maple syrup or honey for sugar. If you want to try artificial sweeteners keep a diary and see if your health, or seizures change.
